English Teacher is an autobiography of Evan, a gay high school English teacher, struggling to survive and search for identity in between teenage battles, parental cultures, and sexual orientation. This is located in Austin, Texas, and the flavor brings extra liveliness to the proceedings, like putting gasoline on a fire that gives truth to the school’s mix of personalities. Evan’s story pulled together with lots of funny accidents and sweet scenes explores the topics of acceptance, friendship, and responsibility based on the simplicity of school life and the complexity of accepting people’s differences. The appearance of gay interest and LGBT themes added to it completely new dimension and makes it much more than comedy.
Brian Jordan Alvarez cast is quite talented and genuinely portrays Evan, making him easily relatable while being complex and meaningful. Obviously, the production design is realistic and recognizable as a portrayal of high school life, but at the same time, concerning the genre, seeking for the right notes of realism and comedy. Facilities and backgrounds are realistic or as familiar as possible but look appealing, Classrooms, houses and outdoors Place Characters and environment details are realistically made on screen with needed special effects used sparingly while the emphasis is placed on characters and the story. The few there are, these aids help create comedic situations that are well incorporated into the story, and do not hinder it at all.

The movie maintains a good energy level and there is humor proceeding drama and vice versa. It guarantees a constant dramatic arc, the opportunity to use jokes and focused on characters’ transformations whenever it is possible.
