Superman & Lois - TV Series Review

It focuses on the lives of Superman and Lois Lane and tries the life of a working parent withкту deeper themes such as more mundane life struggles interwoven with the more traditional superhero adventures. The large focus on real human emotions and experiences in this narrative compared to the story of the comic book makes it far more than an adaptation.

The themes that seem to most propulsive are family, responsibility and identity. The tone isn’t overtly dramatic nor particularly action-packed, it possesses feelings and heavy moments to take viewers into a very familiar day in the life of an actual superhero.

Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch have become the real face of Clark Kent and Lois Lane. Their chemistry and the dedication they’ve shown for this role are seen in the best way possible, portraying these characters as both superheroes and parents.

The directing done by Gregory Smith, Sudz Sutherland and David Ramsey great fits in the show and the fast pacing of episodes is appreciated. In the superb ways that they manage to pair action scenes with thematic contemplations, the story gains its deeper meaning.

The music that accompany the series improves the spectacular and emotional parts where the story take place helping to make each of episodes more interesting.

Cinematography brings the large scale epic hero of Superman and the small scale domesticity of Clark and Lois. Abundant use of vibrant colors and sweeping pictures give the series an impression of a movie.

Effective use of special effects is shown in the film to portray the superhero actions without overemphasizing on the theme. The drawings of flying and other super powers are done in good taste.

It is well polished when it comes to editing in an effort to cover both the action and the drama. It is always pleasantly clear where an episode’s narrative is moving on to next, helping to maintain a viewer’s interest while still being able to provide time for characterisation..
