
Newtopia: Love and Thrills in a Zombie Apocalypse
The newly released Newtopia weaves the tale of a soldier determined to serve his country, but with zombies attacking him all of a sudden. Parallel to him is a zombie riddled Seoul followed by his girlfriend, an engineer who manages to negotiate her way through the chaos. During relentless challenges to be reunited in life amidst an undead infested city, we see survival, love and hope being themes within Newtopia. The episodes increase emotional depth and the stakes of human connections in adversity in drama that, while intense and suspenseful, delivers a tone. With a fast pacing action, romance, and fantasy folds, this brings viewers into a world where every emotion is even bigger.|Both Park Jeong-min and Kim Jisoo performances are awesomely done at the character’s complexity and growth in the mayhem. Their chemistry gives a certain emotional gravity, breaking away from tradition regarding romance in the dramatic battles. Kang Young-seok, Hong Seo-hui, as well as Im Sung-jae lend compelling supporting roles that fill out Newtopias dynamic character interactions well.

The emotional turmoil and suspense that runs throughout the movie is enhanced by each shot of the camera team. Meticulous to the visual storytelling, the series promises intensity, and the lighting and tone that frames such intensity in every scene.|The production design of Newtopia brings viewers into a post-apocalyptic Seoul, where somehow there is a duality between the past and the present; it is vibrant and alive one second to give the impression of what could be the zombies battle sign, then passes within seconds; it evokes darkness into its being.| Newtopia carefully assembles sets and props to enhance reality in order to give the environment a real feel while needing to serve a narrative purpose….

In this respect, Newtopia communicates the urgency and desperation underpinning the series’ premise, rendering the plight of the series’ characters and their struggles ashdash one without end through an unrelenting realm of threat and disorder.
Of course, Newtopia is good in so many ways, however the plot of a few turns out to be kind of predictable in the genre of a zombie. Its ups and downs had action overplayed and left some story elements overlooking or pushed to the side in favor of action moments; moments that run together at too often of a rate.
Newtopia is a world where zombies have overrun most of earth and you get to travel through it along with them, getting a ton of action and the emotional side of things. The series is such a fervent one due to its immersive storytelling and stellar chemistry between its cast. Despite such predictability it draws the audience into its execution, leaving a mark of a battle against zombies, but also against love and survival.
