Nutcrackers: A Cozy Holiday Comedy
‘Nutcrackers’ is a story, which revolves around four siblings who experience an extraordinary realities, they find a new house and a family during the term end when the events make them come together. The plot based on true events is a perfect mix of dramatic and comedic moments which made this movie perfect for watching during the holidays. It is made manifest in its great focus with the aspect of what constitutes a family as it shatters the conventional norms but come with the comforting overtone that comes with a comedy-drama.
Ben Stiller does a great job of portraying the accidental family head with a good combination of comedy and drama as usual. Adding to the cast are Homer, Ulysses, Arlo and Atlas Janson who have new addition to the series as the siblings. Their chemistry seems realistic, and this makes the movie realistic as well and belonging to a certain genre.
Director David Gordon Green together with his cinematographic experience and his ability to mix different genres gives the public a very interesting and comfortable movie. His direction makes it possible for this movie to be funny and dramatic at the right moments and therefore engaging all through to the end.
The sound track also fits the over all theme of the movie with mixture of Christmas classical and scores from the movie compliments the themes of the movie in terms of music scores.
The camera work in ‘Nutcrackers’ is artistic, capturing the True essence of Christmas through classy shots and warm feeling shots. It does this while making one understand both the special occasions of the film as well as time the characters spend together.
