In the comedy ‘Honeymoon Crasher, a young man is jilted at the alter, and forced to go on his honeymoon anyway with his mother and accidentally come across love, drama and adventure and several hilarious and tender moments between them. It is lighthearted comedy show yet has been able to draw deep passion and emotions that brings laughter as well as tears. The antagonism between the lovers is playful but touching throughout the movie.

The film features a mesmerizing performance of the female lead, Michèle Laroque – she is both funny and deep; the male lead, Julien Frison, is likable and forgiving after having been betrayed by his bride-to-be. For the supporting role, Rossy de Palma also provides the film with an enriching variable to the plot.

There are many funny scenes as well as the touching scenes by the movie director, Nicolas Cuche. His directorial decision making skills are done in a manner that positively emphasizes on both the scenes and the narrative as far as emotions and comedy are concerned.

Music in ‘Honeymoon Crasher’ complements the various scenes in terms of both sentiments and twisted humor. It sets the mood that is fitting to the film’s comedy and the romance in it.

The scenes are shot in beautiful locales that are quite romantic to suit the nature of the film and in fact became quite characters of themselves.

The setting is colourful and lively, just as the nature of the film that is filled with comedy and sometimes moments of romance. Many of the scenes are well conceived and executed to support the emotional and comedic development of the plot.

What few references to actual fantasy occur in the film, including rather silly visuals, are used sparingly and to good effect.

The cutting of the movie, while problematic in other areas, works well for what it is by minimizing the contrived gross out element while building up the comedy. The film also has perhaps unintentionally funny or touching scenes but there are occasional problems with pacing in various scenes that takes turn the film into a slow pace. However, such conversations between the characters make the audience remain interested even if something seems to be upbeat.

The language used is lively and entertaining, which makes the movie funny. It also helps to create an intimacy between the characters that enriches the romantic scenes of the film.

As enjoyable as of ‘Honeymoon Crasher’ is, it has major cliches and is a little slow at times. However these are opposed by great performances and smart humoristic subtleties.

By and large, ‘Honeymoon Crasher’ is a comedy that is worth seeing and will make people melt for rather a tender story. It has a few shortcomings, but the story of love and family it presents is quite refreshing and hopeful, so you will certainly leave the theater with a smile on your face.
