‘One Day’ is a story revolving two main characters Emma – an English student – and Dexter – a charming seductive man who takes interest in her at the graduation day of the University in Edinburgh. They go their different business, different ways, but are bound by their one-night stand on the 15 th of July every year for more than twenty-two years in the life of the mini-series explores love, fate, and the complexities of life decisions. This is the core of the narration telling that as much as we strive to make moments romantic and perfect, anything can happen in life at any one time. They apply their chemistry only to generalize the ideas of a long-term relationship. Jonny Weldon’s onscreen support also adds the depth to the film.
Molly Manners, Luke Snellin, and John Hardwick in directing have also kept the comedy and drama intact and have supported by making a good pace for the narrative. Their vision brings the intricate layers of David Nicholls novel to life.
