The show ‘Cross’ is based on James Patterson’s novels and it traces the complicated path of Alex Cross, the detective who is as smart as Sherlock today. The series depicts complicated criminal scenarios while presenting a system of strong and widely elaborated twists that make spectators tense.

Cross’ leans towards elements of justice, ethical structures and the fine-line between law enforcement, and criminal elements. The author creates an extremely emotionally charged atmosphere added to which there are always hints of the thriller component that keeps up the interest throughout the reading.

Aldis Hodge does a great job portraying Alex Cross: he is intense yet subtle at the same time. According to me his interpretation is rather humane and captures both the intellect of the character and his emotional range. Cinematography and main cast members like Isaiah Mustafa and Juanita Jennings give extra, enriching the storyline with variety.

The series is directed by Stacey Muhammad, Craig Siebels, and Nzingha Stewart to ensure cohesiveness and dynamism for Patterson’s world Patterson’s world comes to life through directorial supervision by Stacey Muhammad, Craig Siebels, and Nzingha Stewart.

Musical arrangement fits into the aggression and drama of the series with proper compositions that relate with mystery and suspense of the show.

’Cross’ is another series where cinematography has a very important place for adaptation of special mood and atmosphere of the series and their shots are very carefully made.

Production design effectively cabs Patterson’s written word into a colourful, believable environment in which character histories may play out.

‘The use of special effects is minimal and strategic to guarantee that the audience will be more influenced by the story and the rather complex characterization and development of the roles.

The show’s editing keeps viewers on the edge of their seats by yet keeping them on pace with the shows captivating story arcs.

’Cross’ atmosphere retains a close to perfect pacing with tight constructs and timed moments of escalation so that it effectively stoke the audience’s interest from week to week.

‘It is rapidly paced and goal oriented, sometimes even mimicking the cleanness and logic of detective’s mind, yet it does not shy away from more intimate and moral issues concerning the characters.

‘Cross’ does a good job with trying to evoke the settings of Alex Cross stories, but there are some instances where the flow of the story feels off. It is kinda stressful that some episodes can be crammed with too many details, which sometimes minimize smoothness in the show.

As a viewer, if one is observing ‘Cross’, one cannot help but be enamored by how complex the show presents the detective’s life. This movie makes Alex cross come alive bringing in strong storying on one hand and strong character portrayal on the other hand to give breathtaking crime drama.
