Fateh: A Thrilling Adventure of Redemption and Justice
Fateh is based on a storyline of a former don now turned security provider for a woman named Khushi. While Fateh use all his tactfulness to protect her, he discovers threats and a much bigger plot that would bring him out of retirement to fight a group of cyber mafias. The third story interconnects his previous life with the present mission, forming the backdrop for an appealing showdown.
Various themes include the concept of reformation and the fight between good and evil, revenge on behalf of the people who he lost in the past and the internal conflict of the protagonist who can’t escape from his previous life as a criminal. Its acting is filled with suspense and action, therefore creating thrilling experience. Despite having seen many Indian actors in different films, I can confidently say that Sonu Sood nailed it as Fateh who is an alcohol drinker and murderer but trying to sober up and reform himself. Jacqueline Fernandez is a perfect foil, and she’s revealing a real person in ‘Khushi’. The stars have a supporting team in Vijay Raaz, who provides the necessary shades to the movie and enhances the character relationships.
For an action film, Sonu Sood has been successful in directing the sequences properly and adding emotional emotions at the same time. With his directorial position and leading man title, perhaps its appropriate that he has more fidelity with the film’s tone and feel, as it could be seen that he understands the conventions of the crime and action drama.
The sound score of Fateh complements the mood of a film with the fast paced tempo and dramatic music during the action scenes and powerful and touching music during heightened emotional scenes to match the house tempo.
Vivid, Fateh Lighting in ‘Fateh’ is carefully employed to constantly build up tension and plunge the viewers into a thrilling atmosphere of the film.
The locations depicted in the movie have been clearly painted to the last detail and believable, taking the viewers from idyllic Punjabi countryside to noisy New Delhi streets in the best tradition of setting up the dramatic story of the movie.
Special effects that have been used in the movie are also impressive but are Extended chase scenes and fight scenes are shot realistically, and the CGIIncorporation is seamlessly done in Fateh. Since the shifts between past and present are smooth, the movie’s structure causes no confusion.
Fateh has a good speed and a nice combination of the shoot ‘em up scenes and the reflective utterances. It keeps things going without battering the viewer and the audience with constant action and yet incorporating the character development within the pacing.
Dialogues in Fateh are clear and have meaningful punches which are very much close to the gravity of the situation while also sounding true to the characters. They are good in delivering the feel, mood and the build up of tension that increases overall appeal.
Despite producing well executed action scenes and well developed characters by far, it like many other movies from this genre, resorts to cliches. It also has to be said that some subplots could have been driven further to make the story even more complicated but that is just nitpicking because the film is very thrilling indeed. Personally, the representation done by Sonu Sood and his direction brings a superb film which is worth watching beyond credits. It is this exploration of redemptionjustice that appeals to an audience’s emotions, the never-ending tug-of-war between black and white.
