Located in a typical small town the show ‘Werewolves’ revolves around two headstrong CDC officers who aim to put a stop to a mutation caused by a super moon. Stake: the audience gets the experience of how people became scared due to an unknown phenomenon that turns people to werewolves. Some of the positive aspects that are brought by this film include creating tension and thriller feel with the help of supernatural components. The ever-looming threat increases tension and excitement, characteristic for any werewolf horror.

Frank Grillo and Katrina Law with the wonderful supporting cast met the challenge and did phenomenal job. The character of Grillo is portrayed as a determined and fight(retired soldier with desire to fight) person and on the other hand Law’s character has scientific brilliance and courage. Their chemistry enriches the story and the rest of the actors provide depth especially Lou Diamond Phillips.

’Werewolves’ is directed by Steven C. Miller and it contains classical horror elements with elements of post-modernism. On his part, Miller does not dwindle on any scene but rather ratchets tension and suspense tactfully. He closely interprets the principles of the horror genre, thereby providing an interesting motion picture.

A musical accompaniment, a unique, oppressive mood that complements the film’s tension. This combines horror with a soundtracks’ tracking of intense melody with strong rises that build up the suspense and the supernatural mood and makes every sighting of the werewolves even more exciting.

Cinematographer captures the small town’s eerie mood at night, the deserted streets illuminated by the super moon light. Much attention is paid to the influence of shadows and moonlight that add the film’s horror aspects, as well as build tension, with the help of which the external environment reflects the nature of the storyline.

The picture of the townspeople and their life is colorful, as well as the picture of a werewolf who lives among them – thanks to outstanding production design work, the movie reveals the genuine beauty of small towns, as well as turns into Other aspects that help enhance the overall experience include such elements as changes of sets during the werewolf attacks.

Another appealing aspect of the show is werewolf transformations which used both practical effects and computer ones. Some of the best transformations are well recreated in the film as a special effects team bringing bits of horror of transformation as well as fascination creating a believable threat to the plot.

The film is well grounded well edited and does not contain fat parts or slow boring sequences. Well-chosen transitions from move scenes to action scenes that occur after the protagonists’ transformations make the movie’s pace intense, yet sustainable. It is not intense however the story maintains its viewership by rhythmically going back and forth between action, dialogue development and suspense. Clever quips and scientific language complement character relationships and development and the plot.

‘Werewolves’ does provide great moments and transformation scenes though the story resorts to some tropes too often. It might be argued that an overly familiar referent to the conventions of the werewolf might limit the measure of creativity. It seems that some points of the plot might need more focus to be given to provide more detail to the story.

Television: ‘Werewolves’ is an intense horror and suspense filled show that should not be missed. The viewers would be in a state of suspense and the acting in the movie is outstanding. It has all the elements of both mainstream horror of the classic genre and new age horror storytelling but has its clichés.
