A Bloody Christmas Eve to Remember: Violent Night
On the Christmas Eve a group of professional armed criminals led by Michael, attacks and takes the entire staff of a wealthy suburban couple, John and Pamela, hostages. Of which they are unaware, there is a bitter, cynical Mr. Claus around, and he is not the joyful fellow the world has known. He fights the mercenaries with force and power, and velocities, making ‘Violent Night’ a night full of incredible heroic and holiday-themed surprises.
The movie ‘Violent Night’ is an action-packed black humor thriller with touches of mercenary action and Christmas holidays. The film actually tells a complete story of the so called Christmas atmosphere with brutal violence continually playing in front of the audience, letting people see the essence of redemption, belief and Christmas spirit under the extreme condition.
David Harbour played the role of disillusioned Santa Claus with humour and vengence. That is why the unexpected transition of Hedges from a man who delivers gifts to a hardcore action hero looks quite amusing. Such the cast choice is providing an evil spin on the movie, which enriches the overall story with an antagonist – John Leguizamo as ‘Mr. Scrooge.’
As for the director, Tommy Wirkola also shows a great vision of turning the Christmas movie into the action-packed and entertaining story. Newbolt’s kinetic direction maintains focus on an involving and intense narrative which never lets the viewer off the hook throughout the picture’s entire recital.
It uses standard Christmas songs and instrumentals, all with a grisly twist — fitting the overall mood of Krampus. The music complements the tension and humor in the movie adding depth to the ongoing drama on screen.
The use of lights and the camera work brilliantly put the feel of the holiday season against a very grim theme of the movie. Lighting and camera movements are added to the scenes to amplify tension, and the overall appearance of 1920s Germany House.
While the plot is built around the intricate wealthy family house, darkness and the unstable atmosphere of Germany during the 1920s are also depicted. Extraordinary effort paid to establishing tone of celebration of holiday enhances the power of the story. This show is rich in special effects, intense action sequences are creative and well executed. It is right that the movie is a blend of violence and comedy The scenes of action are exciting and intense.
The scenes are well edited making the film to be very full of action without being too tiresome all the time. There are no breaks in the action sequences which allow for easy progress through the plot of the film. It manages to integrate plot and action which makes for a great watch It maintains witty banter along with heartfelt lines, something that’s right for the film’s hybrid format. The plot is based on rich character discussions, and Santa’s humorous appeal was one of the best.
Some have complained about tonal inconsistency in the movie ‘Violent Night.’ Some people might not find a combination of violence and Christmas themes quite suitable, and sometimes the movie goes a bit over the top in terms of plausibility.
However, in having a dark theme mixed with the typical Christmas theme, the movie ‘Santa’s Slay’ entertained and at the same time made me wonder at the twists of the plot. Because of this, it hit the audience as an underdog story, full of hope and faith in the audience plus a call for action properly housed in the potent strain of comedy. It is a holiday movie turned up with bloody and brutal themes, which brings out the spirit of the movie as violent, literally and literarily.
