Sonic the Hedgehog 2 continues the story of Dr. Robotnik’s arrival back on Earth, and this time he brings Knuckles with him in a quest to find a special emerald that can birth and erase entire worlds. Together with Tails the two embark on a race against time to find the emerald first which takes them on a journey across the world.

Some of the issues illustrated in the film include friendship, team work, betrayal and the timeless conflict between the hero and the villain. The atmosphere shifts from happy and jolly to mysterious and full of action, which is quite suitable for the story.

James Marsden, Jim Carrey, and the voice of Ben Schwartz are fine reproducing their characters. Indeed, Carrey gives Dr. Robotnik the comically sinister feeling you would expect from a live-action character while Schwartz manages to bring out the childlike energy of Sonic from the video games. Idris Elba voices for Knuckles and provides a Nelson-like seriousness while raw anger puts up an intriguing combo with the rest of the character line up. His direction provides great insight and leadership via a story that will be fun for both the families that will be its main target audience as well as the traditional Sonic video game fans.

The music adopted by the film director, Tom Holkenborg comes as a complement to fast moving action by providing more of an upbeat score that gives energy to scenes while adding the element of feel and the thrill.

The mean while, the cinematography benefits from lively visual The addition of vibrant colors and fast and furious camera movements adds to the energy and enthusiasm of the movie.

The elements of production are quite well executed with the variety of landscapes ranging from urban cities to astonishing landscapes contributing to the build up of adventure in the film.

Sonic, the Hedgehog himself, as well as the rest of the movie’s action sequences are aided by efficient special effects that make the Sonic speed believable and visually appealing.

The action scenes are fierce and intense, but it also provides time for character development which provides depth to the movie.

The dialogues are witty and hilarious, keeping with the fast-paced and fun personalities of the character, such as Sonic and Dr. Robotnik at best.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a noisy action-packed pace that will delight its target group, but occasionally the rhythm interferes with dramatic engagement.

Overall, Sonic For anyone who has been associated with the franchise this gives that certain feeling of the good ole days while at the same time giving a fresh experience to anyone who is a neophyte in the series. It addresses fan service, fear and fun in the right proportions to remain an exciting chapter in the Sonic franchise.
