In Karate Kid: ‘Legends’, a kung fu prodigy Li Fong (Ben Wang) tries to move from Beijing to the United States-City New York particularly facing trial of a change of residence. From the training with his master, Mr Han (Jackie Chan), and original Karate Kid Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio), Li’s story in the film is a mix of karate tournament and identity.

The events of the picture are united with an effective combination of martial arts and incredible messages about the changes, traditions, personal growth, and interpersonal relationships. It is an inspiring drama accompanied by powerful stunts and idea of friendship and development.

Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio give energetic and vigorous acting and it seems that their characters do really complement each other. Ben Wang does well portraying Li Fong drawing out the emotional side of a young martial artist well and to good effect.

The sequel direction by Jonathan Entwistle brings about the complexity of martial arts fight sequences together with realistic emotional scenes in equal measures.

Watching Karate Kid: SAGA: Legends is a trip back into the past aimed at recreating the atmosphere of the original movies yet adding new ideas and characters as well. It is a homage to martial arts and self-improvement, helped by powerful acting from Chan, Macchio, and Wang.
