Cheena Trophy: A Village Drama with Heart

It is a story of Rajesh, a middle aged man fighting to aspire a big business man who owns a small bakeshop business. His life does a turn around style when he meets Zheng, a Chinese woman whose curiosity works wonders on the village. The film explores different humorous scenarios caused by cultural differences and misinterpretations While all this comedic scenarios keep the viewers interested in solving the mystery of Zheng’s true intentions.

In terms of themes, Cheena Trophy is an analysis of culture adoption and self-identity. The given film can be describe as a funny yet heartwarming movie with further philosophical insights regarding people and their need for companionship in their lives. The movie has a chuckles, emotion, and even a few romantic moments painted in a fun but sincere and naïve manner.|It is sure to find humour and emotions rooted and carried off sincerely by the lead Dhyan Sreenivasan as Rajesh. Johny Antony and Ponnamma Babu are the others in its cast that could provide great support, thus, they injected some comedy to the plot of the movie. The real star of this movie, however, is Zheng, depicted as the unassuming yet potent force that serves as the motor of the plot and gives the main characters their depth.

Anil Lal as a director, does a great job directing the delicate power struggle between comedy and drama in Cheena Trophy. He gets the subtlety of each character and their interpersonal relationship and successfully maintains the comic element while not making the film boring.

Musical score supporting Cheena Trophy is quite good helping to create emotional scenes without taking away from the overall emotion. The music scores are excellent, fitting well into the cultural theme of the village part of the movie and are an added value to the overall movie.

The camera work is colourful with great motions throughout the Indian village setting. Much like the films cinematography, each shot looks deliberate, enhancing the viewers engagement with the surroundings and giving a visual representation of Cheena Trophy.

Indeed, the production design of the film reflects the cultural and geographical aspect of Cheena Trophy. Right from the bake shop to the village market everything is given real dimensions for aesthetic appeal in the context of the story telling of the particular episode.

Like I mentioned earlier Cheena Trophy does not make extensive use of special effects preferring aspects with real life feel. This approach ensures that the film remains realistic thus making the jokes and emotional moments more effective.

Cutting in Cheena Trophy therefore is smooth and this makes the progression of the story vibrate and interesting. In addition, there is the smooth intergradation of both comedic and dramatic scenes to make the feature film’s plot more coherent.
