Based on the real life of Major Mukund Varadarajan ’Amaran’ is the fictional story which is located in Qazipathri Operation of Kashmir 2014. The straightforward protagonist is the army officer Sivakarthikeyan who with a group of soldiers tries to protect peace against those seeking to destroy it. On this journey of war, the protagonist gets brief periods of reflection, growth, and determination, leading his team. This makes the themes of the movie switch back and forth between the actual warfare and the internal warfare experienced in the characters. This balance between tragedy and hope gives extra layers to the story, making it an exciting yet thoughtful one.

Sivakarthikeyan performs well in the movie as Major Varadarajan, portraying a combination of power and weakness clearly. His portrayal is backed up by a strong support cast as well, that includes Sai Pallavi who despite having a very limited screentime brilliantly gives the necessary emotional weight to the movie. Bhuvan Arora and Rahul Bose are also seen in the lead, both add dimensions to the cast that make consumers feel for the characters.

Rajkumar Periasamy’s ‘Amaran’ is a perfect balance between the punch and emotional outpour; fighting sequences are as convincing as the love-making scene.

The music composed and arranged by G.V. Prakash Kumar suits the film’s narrative as it has both emotional They also add layers of emotionality to the story.

They also stay realistic and detailed, to make the warring Kashmir setting as believable as it can be. Conceit in regards to set construction brings to the movie a sublime sense of realism at work.

The special effects are not jarring thus enhance the movie’s authenticity and thrilling moments without obfuscating the human aspect of the movie.

The scenes are well cut making the movie flow rhythmically and keep the audience on their toes without losing credibility on the characters or events. The flow, including speeding up and slowing down, is important in a movie of this nature and type, and this is well complemented by the editing team.

There are times when the tempo goes up and down in the movie and although the scenes switch between action and non-action sequences, the movie draws the viewers in smoothly without appearing to rush them or leaving them bored.

The dialogues used in the production of ‘Amaran’ are They are not only serving the plot purpose but also sound with a sad yet inspirational optimism to the film’s drama, boosting up the emotional Drive.

For example, the song ‘Amaran’ is great point in many aspects, however, some spectators might feeling the movie is too long and a tad fatiguing. On some occasions, the movie could of delved further emotionally into some of the characters relationships. But it is still an interesting take on courage and picking a side.

’Amaran’ is a story of bravery and an individual’s choice that is acted out well and has an interesting plot. It thrusts the viewer right into the middle of the action with passion and pour, making action dramas and tales of real-life heroism a must see.
