Abigail - Movie Review

: In ‘Abigail’ a group of criminals kidnap a ballerina named Abigail who is the daughter of a mafia boss to a mansion and demand for a ransom. The children find that she is not your typical kid and end up dealing with a very evil supernatural force.

Looking at the general tendencies, themes of ‘’Abigail’’ are connected to crime, supernatural horror, survival and its tone of voice is as far as tension and eerie suspense. It provokes horror and interest, maintaining people in suspense.

The young cast is talented and besides Alisha Weir the members of the cast also impress with their acting skills. All the actors sculpt their roles with passion, hence providing the audience with a realistic depiction of what fear and greed are.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett direct with an air of the visionary watching, specializing in a horror related with a high living potential of overturns and disturbing scenes.

From the multiple angles, it could be deemed that cinematography in ‘Abigail’ is hauntingly beautiful. It amplifies the tense scenes, light and darkness are used effectively to make the viewer feel the perils of the characters.

However, ‘the mansion setting in ‘Abigail’ is truly well chosen that not only has a gothic sophistication reflecting the basic plot of the story but also serves to enhance the supernatural theme.
